Garden

The garden has been expanded this year thanks to all the parents who helped with manure and soil. John, the Home School Liaison Officer helped to construct the garden boxes and we have had a few visits from Heritage in Schools teaching about botany and gardening. The children have a herb box, a potato box, a box for legumes or peas and beans, and a box for garden salads and veg. One of the boxes will grow pumpkins which hopefully will add to our Halloween celebrations. The children have already harvested and eaten some of the salads.

The classes have a rota of watering and the garden really started to thrive in mid May when the heat and moisture drove the growth. Special thanks to Ms. Hadden’s horse “Juno” and to Zoë Holman’s horse for their contribution to the organic fertiliser in the garden in the form of well rotted manure!
